My goal for the Autumn 2014

Recently I was thinking about thinking It all began by reading an article ”No Time to Think” from The New York Times (http://www.nytimes.com/2014/07/27/sunday-review/no-time-to-think.html). You should read it as well I you haven’t already. In short, it’s about being on-line all the times and not having any internal talk with yourself. I saw recent myself in the article and decided to do something about it. I had a dialogue with myself to find out what I want to do and what are my current concerns about my career. You know, adult stuff.

My career has given me lots of headaches recently because I am currently unemployed and seeking meaningful ways to use my skills and interests in exchange of a monetary reward. The whole IT industry in Finland has plummeted because of large corporations have outsourced functions to lower wage countries and sold entire business sectors to international players (which have in turn outsourced to India and other “cheaper” countries). The end result is Finland has many highly educated people fighting for diminishing positions. In other words, finding a good position is harder than ever.

So there I was, slowly thinking what I would like to do. I came into realization. I would like to spread ideas, receive feedback and help people.

My next question was how to do that? I found out I already have the tools I need; Twitter, Wordpress and LinkedIn. I just need to use them more to achieve my goal. This requires effort, but I would like to try. All good things in life require effort, effortless gains are not appreciated highly.

So here we are; this Autumn I will pursue my goal by being more active writer and collaborator on the topics that I am interested in. What these topics are is still a mystery but we will find out. I hope you will find them as interesting as I do.

Best regards,

Teemu
